FYC – Joy of Framing Charity Race

FYC – Joy of Framing Charity Race
As part of the FYC racing schedule (details on the FYC website), this coming weekend is the Joy of Framing Regatta. July 18 & 19

Everyone is invited to take part and head down to Douglas Harbour for the fun on Saturday and Sunday.  Races have been hotly contested with interesting strategies for success!

On Saturday after the racing, somewhere around 4, we’re holding (back by popular demand) a Steak & Lobster pot luck get together on the wharf!

Whether you’re a racer or not, we’re inviting all FYC members (incl. social members & alumni) to join us for this really fun afternoon & evening.

Let me know how many lobsters you want and our ‘executive chefs’ will standing by on the wharf with tongs and pots to prepare a real Maritime treat.

FYC will be providing the steaks and we’re again asking members to whip up your favourite summer side dish or dessert to share.

Bring your own ‘libation’!

We’re also calling out our fabulous musicians to provide their unparalleled concert & sing along skills.

Attendees might want to bring along a lawn chair so you can recline in comfort.

I’ll be picking up the lobsters on Saturday morning and would like to have numbers by Friday noon so I can let Peter’s know how many we need.

The price is currently $11.99/lb for lobsters 1-3 lbs.  Let me know the number and size that you’d like to have and be prepared to hand over your cash on Saturday :o).

We’ll have melted butter, salt & pepper, & rolls. We’ll also have decent (less likely to collapse) plates and the usual plastic cutlery.  You might want to bring your own more robust knives and forks and specialized lobster tools so you don’t end up wearing your dinner.

We have cell phones to record the most spectacular disasters…… :o)

We’ll also have a few vegan options too.

We’re going to need a few additional lobsters pots and several camp stoves.

Our nice BQ can’t do it all.  Let me know if you could bring one of these items.

This weekend’s regatta is also a fundraiser to help kids learn to sail.

What a great opportunity to support future FYC members!

A sponser sheet is attached so you can raise lots of money! for the main page of the web site

I think that’s everything…….

Hope to see everyone this weekend!
